Welcome to the Web Pages of the Southdale
Baptist Church, Johannesburg.
I am glad that you are taking the time to see
something of our church. I trust that there will
be something especially for you and that you
will get to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ more.
The is small and has the typical problems associated to that but it is unique in many ways. For instance, we have people of many different nationalities and race; the area in which the church is situation is a really cosmopolitan and a mission field on its own. We have people coming from 10 to 20 Km’s away because they see the church as their family and because they love it, warts and all. Another interesting factor is that we don't have a live band or pianist but our sound system and use of CD’s and DVD’s would be the envy of even the big churches.
There is no limit to what a small church can do as long as its main desire is to glorify Jesus. I think church is all about loving God, being totally committed to Jesus Christ, loving your brothers and sisters in the Lord, being faithful in serving the "Body" and having a passion for the Great Commission.
May God bless you richly, use you and meet all your needs.
